Preparations for Under-13 Boys Championship in Lima, Peru

The weekend of 27th March was a very significant one in the history of Cricket Peru: on Saturday, the Under-13 Peruvian Boys team had a practice match on the hallowed turf of Lima Cricket & Football Club.  It was an excellent day and very good practice for the boys.  There were 13 boys out there … 13 of them Peruvian.

The motivating factor behind this practice was the upcoming, inaugural Cricket South America Under-13 Boys Championship, being held in Lima from 9th to 11th April, and featuring a triangular tournament between Argentina, Chile and proud hosts, Peru.  Sadly, Brazil are unable to send a team on this occasion, but it is hoped that this Championship will mark the beginning of many junior cricket competitions amongst Cricket South America’s stakeholders.
