Lima Llamas to play Tacna Tigers … in Tacna!

  Posted on: October 9th, 2010

After August’s successful visit to the frontier city of Tacna by Cricket Peru committee member, Kashyap Nansi, and Development Officer, Vishal Vaidya, on a fact-finding mission, it has been decided to hold the first ever Peruvian Interprovincial Cup, a.k.a. ‘The TacnAshes’, in  Tacna, over the weekend of 13th - 14th November, 2010.
The proposed itinerary is to arrive on Saturday morning, and then play a warm-up game at Tacna’s Zofratacna ‘ground’.

Then, on Sunday, the marquee event will be the Lima Llamas playing against the Tacna Tigers at the Jorge Basadre National Stadium (capacity 25,000 - pictured right) in what is designed as a showcase match to kick-start the development of cricket in Tacna.
It will be a historic occasion, the like of which has never been seen before, and to which all are welcome. I’m sure our Tacna hosts will make us feel very welcome, and it will be an experience that will live long in the memory.
