With the Indian team and management conspicuous by their absence from the LG ICC Awards 2011, held at the Grosvenor Hotel on Monday, 12^th September, it was left to the captain and vice-captain of the Peruvian Llamas to provide some much-needed star quality at the event.

Various lucky England players such as Alastair Cook, Graeme Swann, Jimmy Anderson and ICC Player of the Year, Jonathon Trott, managed to get their photo taken with Peru’s elite. They looked a little star-struck … so much so that none of them really seemed to register quite where or what Peru was.

The only disappointment of the evening was that a Peruvian player did not win the ICC Associate & Affiliate Player of the Year. Instead, the prize was awarded to all-rounder Ryan ten Doeschate of the Netherlands.
