Cricket South America Under 13 Championship, Poços de Caldas, 2013

The Under 13’s Peruvian Cricket Team competed for the fourth consecutive year in the South American Cricket Championships. This tournament was held in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerias, Brasil on Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th of October, 2013.

The team performed superbly: although losing to Argentina in the first game, they went on to defeat Brasil and Chile in the preliminary rounds to qualify for the final.

Their victory in the Final against Argentina was a very close match with a spectacular ending: Diego de la Puente scored 14 runs from the final over to ensure a Peruvian Cricket South America tournament victory for the first time at any level.

Not only did Peru win the tournament trophy, but Luis Paredes won both Best Batsman of the Tournament and Best Player, Billy Halsted won the Best Bowler Award; and Diego De la Puente won Man of the Match for the Final.
